Requirements

  • An email address to create your account
  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
  • That's it — Card Drop works entirely in your browser

Create Your Card

After signing up, you'll land on your Dashboard. This is your home base for managing all your cards.

Creating a new card

  1. Click the "New Card" button on your dashboard
  2. Choose a unique slug — this becomes your card URL (e.g., carddrop.com/yourname)
  3. Enter your display name — the name shown prominently on your card
  4. Click "Create" and you'll be taken straight to the editor

Choosing your slug

Your slug is your card's permanent URL. Pick something memorable and professional — your name, brand, or handle works great. It can't be changed once created.

Your card fields

Each card supports the following fields:

Display Name Required
Tagline Your title or motto
Bio Short description
Pronouns e.g., she/her
City Your location
Availability Open to work, etc.

Using the Editor

The editor is your card's design studio. It's split into two main areas:

Editor Layout

Left Panel — Settings

Edit all your card fields, manage links, upload images, pick themes, and configure appearance options. Changes appear instantly in the preview.

Right Panel — Live Preview

See a real-time 3D preview of your card as you edit. Toggle between front and back views. What you see is exactly what your contacts will see.

Uploading images

Your card supports two images:

  • Avatar — Your profile photo. Displayed as a circular image on the front of your card. Square images work best.
  • Banner — A header image behind your avatar. Use a high-quality landscape photo or branded graphic (recommended: 1200×400px).

Click the upload area or drag and drop an image file. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, and WebP.

Saving your card

Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the editor to save. Your card is updated instantly — anyone with your link will see the new version immediately.

Themes & Styling

Make your card uniquely you. Card Drop offers extensive customization options to match your personal brand.

Card themes

Choose from pre-built themes that instantly transform the look and feel of your card. Each theme includes carefully paired colors, backgrounds, and typography.

Accent color

Pick a custom accent color that highlights links, buttons, and interactive elements on your card. Use your brand color for a cohesive look across your online presence.

Font pairs

Select from curated font pairings that range from modern and clean to bold and expressive. The heading and body fonts are matched to look great together.

Dark mode

Toggle dark mode as the default for your card. Some viewers prefer dark themes, and many professionals choose it for a sleek, premium look.

Sharing Your Card

There are several ways to share your Card Drop with others. The best part? Your contacts don't need any app to view it.

Every card has a unique URL: carddrop.com/your-slug. Copy this link and share it anywhere — email signatures, social bios, text messages, or website buttons.

Your card automatically generates a QR code. Use it in presentations, printed materials, event badges, or even on screen during video calls. More details in the .

If you have an NFC-enabled device, you can share your card with a single tap. Point your contact to your card URL via NFC, and they'll see your full profile instantly in their browser.

QR Codes

Every Card Drop generates a unique QR code that links directly to your card's public profile.

Where to find your QR code

Your QR code is available in two places:

  • Card back — Flip your card preview to the back side to see the QR code displayed
  • Editor sidebar — The "Share & Export" section has a dedicated download button

Downloading your QR code

In the editor's Share & Export section, click "QR Code" to download a high-resolution PNG of your QR code. This image is ready to use in print materials, slides, or social posts.

Best practices

  • Print your QR code at a minimum size of 2cm × 2cm for reliable scanning
  • Ensure there's enough contrast between the QR code and its background
  • Test the QR code with your phone before printing
  • Add a small label like "Scan to connect" next to the code for context

vCard & Contacts

Card Drop lets your contacts save your information directly to their phone's address book with a single tap — no manual typing required.

How vCard works

When someone views your card, they can tap the "Save Contact" button. This generates a .vcf file (vCard format) containing your name, phone, email, and other details. Their phone opens it and prompts them to add you to their contacts.

What's included in the vCard

  • Display name
  • Phone number (if added as a link)
  • Email address (if added as a link)
  • Your Card Drop profile URL

Universal compatibility

vCard files work on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows. Your contacts can save your info regardless of what device they're using.

Analytics

Understand how your card performs. Card Drop tracks key engagement metrics so you can optimize your professional presence.

What we track

Card Views

Total number of times your card has been viewed

Link Clicks

How many times each link on your card was clicked

QR Scans

Views that originated from your QR code

vCard Downloads

Number of people who saved your contact info

Viewing analytics

Your card's view count is displayed on your dashboard card list. For more detailed per-link analytics, open your card in the editor — each link shows its total click count.

Account Settings

Publishing & unpublishing

Each card has a Published toggle. When unpublished, your card URL will show a 404 page. This is useful if you're still working on your card or want to temporarily hide it.

Deleting a card

You can delete a card from your dashboard. This action is permanent and will remove the card, all its links, and all analytics data. The slug will become available again.

Multiple cards

You can create multiple cards — one for personal networking, one for your business, one for events, etc. Each card has its own slug, theme, and analytics. There's no limit, and it's all free.
